John Beczak

Mr. Beczak is the Chief Financial Officer of Petra Funds Group. Prior to Petra, John was a Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Resource Capital Funds, a critical minerals and mining-focused global alternatives investment firm. He brings 25 years of private equity experience to Petra. In his role at RCF, John was responsible for all aspects of RCF’s Finance team, overseeing fund reporting and financial statement preparation. John was a member and/or chaired RCF’s various Valuation Committees and served on the Firm’s Finance Committee, Partners’ Committee, and Compliance/Regulatory Committee. Before joining RCF in 2016, he managed the financial operations of a $10 billion private and public equity portfolio at a family office. He also served as Fund CFO for Carlyle Group’s closed-end credit and distressed strategies, COO for two closed-end credit funds at Lehman Brothers, and Controller for Credit Suisse’s DLJ merchant banking funds. John received a Bachelor of Arts from the College of the Holy Cross, a Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business and is a CPA.
