Petra Funds Group Announces Strategic Donation to Advance Digital Equity Through Computers 4 People

Petra Funds Group today announced a philanthropic initiative to donate computers to Computers 4 People, a nonprofit dedicated to bridging the digital divide and expanding access to technology for underserved communities. Founded in 2019, Computers 4 People refurbishes donated devices and distributes them to individuals and families in need, while also providing digital literacy education and affordable internet solutions through a network of more than 400 nonprofit partners.

Petra Funds Group’s donation will support this mission by providing high-quality computers through a secure process. Working with over 250 corporate partners, Computers 4 People collects used technology, performs certified data erasure to NIST 800-88 standards, and refurbishes viable devices for redistribution to students, job seekers, and families—reducing e-waste while expanding access to opportunity.

“At Petra Funds Group, we believe access to technology is no longer optional—it’s essential,” said Stephen Coats, Managing Partner, Co-Founder at Petra Funds Group. “We are proud to partner with Computers 4 People to help close the digital divide and empower individuals with the tools they need to succeed.”

Through this initiative, Petra Funds Group joins a growing network of corporate and individual donors committed to digital inclusion. Donated devices undergo certified data erasure and refurbishment processes before being placed with vetted recipients, ensuring both security and impact.

“We are grateful for Petra Funds Group’s support in advancing digital equity,” said a representative from Computers 4 People. “Partnerships like this allow us to scale our impact and bring technology—and opportunity—to more communities.”

This collaboration reflects Petra Funds Group’s broader commitment to social impact, sustainability, and community empowerment. By repurposing technology, the initiative not only expands access but also contributes to responsible e-waste management and environmental stewardship.
